As one of the most important protection of the riders, this will be not fair if we don't look closer on the new helmets on stage and what's new on them; technology, innovation, and also the models. So, here we will look closer on two new helmets that shown on
Eurobike 2014, the new helmets from Bell and Leatt.
Bell releases three new helmets on this event, the Bell Super 2R, Bell Full Flex and Bell Reflex. Bell Super 2R comes to fill the need of functional system; a full face helmets that can be modified to be enduro helmets by releasing the down protector. The Super 2R also completed with camera mount to ease for placing the helmet camera. The Super 2R has been certified to guarantee the safety with CPSC and CE EN1078, and available on S, M, L size. Available on six colors, Bell Super 2R will be priced at $200 on market.
Bell Full Flex and Reflex are special helmets that be designed for the higher-chance-to-be-hitting-the-ground, so these helmets are for slopestyle riders, dirtjumpers, or maybe park riders. Both of them have been certified with ASTM F1492-08. The Full Flex will be priced at $100 in black and white color option, and Reflex will be priced at $65 and available in five colors option.
We have also new helmet from Leatt, a brand that famous for their neck-brace products and they use the event as the place for introducing their new helmet, a full face carbon helmet the Leatt DBX Carbon Helmet. The DBX will be available on January next year, and can be brought home with $499 for the carbon helmet, and $399 for the composite helmet.
This helmet have got the safety certification such as EN1078, US CPSC, and also ASTM so this helmet is safe for the aggressive riding, downhill or freeride biking. The SBX Carbon helmet have V-Form Multi-Density Foam for the inner material, and it have three things like the small wheels or turbine inside to keep the better isolate of the energy impacts. The DBX also have the 360 degree turbine technology.
The DBX designed to be match with the neck-brace so the design of the DBX is neck-brace compatible, mostly the neck-brace from Leatt itself. A way for the rider to drink also have a place on this helmet, at least that's what Leatt think. Drink in the middle of the riding now can be easier with the Leatt DBX helmet.
