Frequency Control Valve by BOS Suspension

Frequency Control Valve or also known as FCV is the new suspension technology that be developed by high-end suspension good, BOS and this technology will be newest innovation from the brand's engineers. Basically this is not really new technology, because this system has been used in motor sport scene for few years, especially on off-road scene.

But then BOS develops this technology to be adapted in mountain biking sport and the improvement will be applied to make the suspension more comfort and efficient. On mountain biking sport, the application of FCV on MTB suspension system is placing the second damper inside the fork.

The FCV will give some benefits, such as the buttery feeling, less nose drive, more comfort on bumps braking. The new BOS Idylle RaRe DH fork will be available both 26 inch and 27.5 inch with 8 mm addition travel, so it will be 208 mm travel. Overall weight of the fork is 2680 gr. And the FCV suspension technology will be applied on the newest BOS fork, the Idylle RaRe, but there's no much information about the releasing date of the fork, and also the availability and the price.

Eurobike 2014: Easton and Giant Wheelsets

Easton is a popular brand on wheelsets and mountain biking parts and goods, and in the Eurobike 2014, Easton comes with newest Havoc 27.5 with some new improvement and the improvements get result the UST certified rims design. The new Havoc 27.5 also comes with 12x150 and 142 axles and total wight of the wheelsets are 1.940 gr.

Giant also releases new wheelset, the TRX 1 Composite with good looking design and decals and this can be alternative option for anyone who want to make some upgrades to make the bike look sweeter, even though Giant is not a big player in the wheelsets goods, but this wheelset may be can attract you. Eurobike 2014: Rocky Mountain Altitude 799 MSL

Rocky Mountain comes to the Eurobike 2014 show with their newest 27.5 inch wheels of Rocky Mountain Altitude, a 150 mm travel bike and comes with matte carbon and blue color combination and that's such a really good combination. This is also such a clean bike, due to the internal cable routing; in other words, the Altitude 799 MSL is good looking bike and have different approach on the decals design than their previous bike.

The Altitude 799 MSL comes with FOX suspension both on front and rear, SRAM - Raceface combination; Next cranks with SRAM drivetrain and a pair of really good wheelset from Reynold's Black Label.

Eurobike 2014: Apex Asia Bike

Unique brand name, Apex Asia also comes to the Eurobike 2014 event with their project bike, a really shining bike and that's really good looking bike. This can be still a prototype as there's no specific name on the bike like another new bike, but like said above, this bike will be shining.

The most interesting part of the Apex Asia bike is the suspension system, and it said that the man behind the design of the bike is the same person who design the Magic Link suspension platform on Kona, Brian Berthold. 

It can be seen on the suspension platform, which have different color and really shining - and this will be good if they keep this design to attract people. Overall, this is such an interesting bike, quite difference with the suspension platform system so, let's waiting for the next step of the bike.

Eurobike 2014: NS Bikes with New Bikes

NS Bikes also introduces their newest 27.5 inch wheeled bike at Eurobike 2014 event, with a new downhill bike and new enduro bike, both are 650b. NS Bikes launches the Fuzz, a new downhill machine from the brand, with 203mm travel and the Snabb E1 which will be a new enduro race machine.

The Fuzz downhill bike is using Horst-link for the suspension system, with the rear dropout option that can be chose by riders to make it suitable for the rider. The Fuzz will be equipped with Marzocchi 888 CR Fork and be combined with Rockshox Kage for the rear shock.

And the Snabb E1 is the new enduro bike with 27.5 inch wheels size, Rockshox will support the suspension department with Rockshox Pike and Monarch Debonair for the front and rear shock. To push the price to be not too high, the Snabb E1 is using SRAM 1x10.

Eurobike 2014: Helmets on Stage

As one of the most important protection of the riders, this will be not fair if we don't look closer on the new helmets on stage and what's new on them; technology, innovation, and also the models. So, here we will look closer on two new helmets that shown on Eurobike 2014, the new helmets from Bell and Leatt.

Bell releases three new helmets on this event, the Bell Super 2R, Bell Full Flex and Bell Reflex. Bell Super 2R comes to fill the need of functional system; a full face helmets that can be modified to be enduro helmets by releasing the down protector. The Super 2R also completed with camera mount to ease for placing the helmet camera. The Super 2R has been certified to guarantee the safety with CPSC and CE EN1078, and available on S, M, L size. Available on six colors, Bell Super 2R will be priced at $200 on market.

Bell Full Flex and Reflex are special helmets that be designed for the higher-chance-to-be-hitting-the-ground, so these helmets are for slopestyle riders, dirtjumpers, or maybe park riders. Both of them have been certified with ASTM F1492-08. The Full Flex will be priced at $100 in black and white color option, and Reflex will be priced at $65 and available in five colors option.

We have also new helmet from Leatt, a brand that famous for their neck-brace products and they use the event as the place for introducing their new helmet, a full face carbon helmet the Leatt DBX Carbon Helmet. The DBX will be available on January next year, and can be brought home with $499 for the carbon helmet, and $399 for the composite helmet.

This helmet have got the safety certification such as EN1078, US CPSC, and also ASTM so this helmet is safe for the aggressive riding, downhill or freeride biking. The SBX Carbon helmet have V-Form Multi-Density Foam for the inner material, and it have three things like the small wheels or turbine inside to keep the better isolate of the energy impacts. The DBX also have the 360 degree turbine technology.

The DBX designed to be match with the neck-brace so the design of the DBX is neck-brace compatible, mostly the neck-brace from Leatt itself. A way for the rider to drink also have a place on this helmet, at least that's what Leatt think. Drink in the middle of the riding now can be easier with the Leatt DBX helmet.

Eurobike 2014: Knolly Endorphin 27.5

The popularity of 27.5 inch wheeled bike is rapidly increasing after Knolly also make some changes for their popular bike, the Endorphin, from 26 inch wheeled bike into 27.5 inch wheeled bike which make first appearance on Eurobike 2014. Overall, the appearance of the Endorphin is not so different with previous, except the wheel size and that's not a big issue for now.

Maybe what makes this Endorphin 27.5 looks better is the cleanness and the color of the bike, which is looking sweeter with combination white and orange - there must be another colors but this combination is good. And the spoke also orange, a different approach but that's not influence the performance, because that's just the color. But anyway, the Knolly Endorphin 27.5 will be available on early 2015.

Eurobike 2014: Marzocchi Dropper Post - Prototype

To be honest, Marzocchi creates a really good looking dropper post with this prototype; it looks so simple but elegant and this product can be seen on Eurobike 2014, together with their newest suspension product on the same event. As a prototype, this product still unavailable on market yet, but this product may be the one of the most waiting product from Marzocchi.

The most impressive and attracting design is the brand logo that placed on the top, and the color combination makes the Marzocchi Dropper Post looks elegant - personally, I hope they don't change the color. As seen, Marzocchi maybe will make their dropper post with two different cable system; external and internal cable system, as they are also making on suspension product, this will be easy for them. So, just waiting for this product to be launched officially.

Eurobike 2014: Cube Fritzz 27.5 2015

Cube upgrades the previous Fritzz that have 26 inch wheels into the newest Cube Fritzz with 27.5 inch wheels size, and there's no significant difference with last year edition Fritzz with the newest Fritzz. Still using 180 mm suspension travel, Cube Fritzz 27.5 have longer on the front of the bike.

But, though the 2015 Cube Fritzz 27.5 is said to be similar with the previous bike, the fact is there also another difference and it can be seen on the rear end of the new bike which is more progressive than before. This change be claimed can improving the performance of the bike, to maintain the feel and consistency of the travel.

Eurobike 2014: Dartmoor Roots DH Bike and BMC Trailfox 29er

Dartmoor Roots, a very new downhill from Poland brand Dartmoor finally appear on Eurobike 2014 and overall this is really great looking downhill bike, and almost all parts except the suspension and groupset are original from Dartmoor, including their new wheelset Dartmoor Shield.

The Roots will have 27.5 inch wheels, with Marzocchi Suspension both rear and front with 380 CR on the front and Moto C2R for the rear suspension. 

BMC also releases their new bikes which are the 29er on their Trailfox and Speedfox range. The Trailfox TF02 29er with 150 mm front travel and supported by CCDB for rear suspension. The Trailfox TF02 will be priced at $6499.

The Speedfox has shorter travel than Trailfox, which is 130 mm travel but more option of material; full carbon, front carbon-aluminum rear, or full aluminum. The most expensive Speedfox will be supported with Shimano XTR 11 speed and full carbon will be priced $8999.

Eurobike 2014: Mondraker Dune RR

Many people said that this is the best looking bike on Eurobike 2014 event and that's maybe correct, but best looking is useless without good performance, and by observing the parts used on Mondraker Dune RR we can conclude later about the performance of this bike. 

Mondraker Dune RR is equipped with 160 mm suspension travel make it perfect for the enduro biking and ready to any terrain out there, but with nice geometry, that be called by Mondraker as Evo Forward Geometry, which is same that be used in Mondraker Dune XR. In other words, Evo Forward geometry is the a way to combine a very short stem - 10 mm - with longer front center length in average. With the similar geometry with Dune XR, it may that performance of Mondraker Dune RR will close, and it means that this bike have good performance on technical riding, maybe. Just waiting this bike to be tested, bro!

Eurobike 2014: New Marzocchi Suspension

Marzocchi releases three newest suspension products on Eurobike 2014, two rear suspension and a product fork with unique design and really different with most suspension product on market today. The first is rear suspension named Marzocchi 053 S3C2R, 023 S3CR, 320 LCR Carbon.

Marzocchi 053 S3C2R

Pretty different with another products out there, this shock is 160 mm travel and it means this shock will be perfect for enduro biking. This shock have the black lever on the side of the bridge control and can be adjusted on three positions. The 053 S3C2R will be available on market soon and priced about 600 euro.

Marzocchi 023 S3C

Regarded as cross country shock with unique design, the 023 S3C is adjustable from 100 to 120 mm travel. There is still limited information about the available of this shock on market, but the rumor said this shock will be available on January.

Marzocchi 320 LCR Carbon

A cross country fork, with carbon material and this fork is the 2015 design; with two size, 27.5 inch and 29 inch and can be adjust 80-100-120 mm travel. It has 32 mm stanchions completed with Marzocchi Espresso Treatment. There is no information about the availability on market.

Eurobike 2014: Transition Introduces 4 New Bikes

Transition makes the Eurobike 2014 show as the stage to introduce their newest bikes, not only one or two but four at same time and spread on various scene. On these bikes, Transition uses Horst-Link for the suspension system, except their slopestyle/DJ which they call Transition Ripcord.

Transition Patrol

The same name with infamous name from United Bike - a brand from Indonesia - Transition uses Patrol as the name for their newest bike which have 27.5 inch wheels size and 157 mm travel. The Transition Patrol is available on both frame only and full bike, with $1999 for frame only, and $3499 to $5999 for the full bike price.

Transition Scout

Will be similar to be pronounced with another popular brand, but this bike is Transition Scout, the improvement of the Transition Bottlerocket, with also 27.5 inch wheels size. The Scout have 125 mm rear travel, and 140 mm front fork suspension travel. Same as Patrol, the Scout also available on both frame only and full bike with $1799 (frame only) and $3499 to $5999 (full bike).

Transition Smuggler

Smuggler is 29er bike and this bike is combining the 115 mm of rear travel and 130 mm for the front travel and it will be priced at $1799 for frame only and $3299 to $4899 for the full bike, based on the parts used.

Transition Ripcord

Small full suspension bike with 24 inch wheels, and it seems this bike is made for the teenagers or child-teenagers and the Ripcord will be priced at $1500.

Eurobike 2014: Polygon N9 XTR

The Indonesian brand, Polygon have been participated on Eurobike for several times, and this 2014, Polygon again being the participant on this biggest cycling show. Since become the sponsor for Hutchinson UR Team, Sam Reynolds, and also Yellow Monkey team, this brand is getting popular now.

On Eurobike 2014, Polygon shows the newest Polygon N9 with the groupset which now is using the Shimano XTR 11 speed. Eurobike 2014: New Bikes

Let's come closer to the Eurobike 2014 event, as the biggest cycling show and look some new bikes and another supporting goods on stage, and be ready because there will be many surprise! As predicted, there are so many new bikes on Eurobike 2014, from various brands and various scenes. As the first part of the Eurobike 2014 note, we have about five new bikes to be shown here.

First, we have Canyon with their newest version of Spectral with some updates, the Canyon Spectral now is using both carbon and aluminum frame material. The upgrade can be seen on the longer top tube, on both version carbon and aluminum.

Second, we have Cube with the newest bike the Cube Stereo which is the carbon bike, a new carbon dubbed C68. Cube will build the Stereo as three version, the Cube Stereo with dubbed carbon C68, Stereo with standard carbon, and Stereo with Aluminum version. With 27.5 inch wheels size, this bike have attracting appearance.

The Marin Attack Trail XT 7 will be third bike on the list, with the 150 mm travel and using aluminum material for the frame. The Marin QUAD 3 linkage is used for the suspension system. 

The beautiful bike, Salsa bikes also have new bike to be shown on Eurobike 2014 event with Salsa Spearfish Carbon 2015 version. Smooth frame curve with the 100 mm fork travel, the use of carbon material makes the Spearfish stronger. Another new bike from Salsa, the Horsethief carbon version 2015 edition also came on Eurobike 2014.

New Bike: Ghost Riot Prototype at Eurobike

The Germany brand, Ghost, makes the Eurobike 2014 event as the place to release the Riot Prototype; and Ghost makes this bike as 150 travel bike and it's longer than existing Riot with 130 mm travel. But it may that Ghost will not build this Riot as the 2015 bike, but 2016 though this still the rumor. 

The most interesting and such a kind of new improvement on Ghost Riot Prototype is the Riot Suspension Technology or be called as Riot-Link Suspension. This is the improvement and upgrade of the new Riot but as mentioned above that this bike will be the 2016 model, the suspension technology maybe need improvement before to be produced.

New Bike: Orange Bike Launches the Segment 29er

Orange bike launches the new bike, the Segment 29er this year with the 120 mm front travel suspension and it makes this bike is quite long for the trail bike. But it might to be the "all-rounder" bike, and that's what Orange says about the Segment 29er.

Orange Segment 29er will be available on two sizes, Medium (M-17 inch) and Large (L-19 inch) with the same head angle and seat angle. Rockshox will support the suspension department, and combination Shimano and SRAM for brakeset and drivetrain.

Orange Segment 29er will be available on three variants, and they will be Orange Segment 29er S, Orange Segment 29er PRO, and Orange Segment 29er RS, which is the highest spec of Segment.

New Bike: Yeti AS-R Carbon

Again, Yeti launches their newest bike on cross country scene with new Yeti AS-R Carbon, following the previous new bikes from Yeti this year. Still on beautiful design combined with great and powerful performance, they built new cross country bike to complete the new bikes lineups. Have 100 mm rear suspension travel, the Yeti AS-R carbon will be perfect for cross country and trail riders.

The frame is quite light with only 4.2 lb (frame only) and the AS-R Carbon will be different size, Extra Small (XS) to Small (S) will have 27.5 inch wheels and Medium (M) to Extra Large (XL) will have 29 inch wheels. The suspension department will be equipped by FOX, as they are partners for several times. 

The complete version of Yeti AS-R Carbon will be equipped with SRAM X01 drivetrain, and for now the bike is available in UK only. The color option can be chosen; black and turquoise.
