New Bike: The New Mondraker Dune Carbon

The Spanish brand Mondraker finally releases their newest machine, the Mondraker Dune XR Carbon, and as the update version of the previous, this new Mondraker's mountain bike turns to be sexier but at the same time looks brutal and agressive. Mondraker makes several options for the fans to get their favorite, as the Mondraker build three different version of the Dune Carbon; the Mondraker Dune XR Carbon, Mondraker Dune RR Carbon, and Mondraker Dune R Carbon.

As made of carbon, this new Mondraker Dune is lighter than the aluminum version up to 540 gr. Overall weight of the Dune Carbon is about 2,460 gr without fork. Mondraker says that the complete bike will be weight about 12,6 kg.

Still adopting the Zero Suspension System, the look of this new Dune Carbon is looking sexier and slacker. It also adopting the Forward Geometry, the characteristic of the Mondraker mountain bike. The Mondraker Dune XR Carbon will be the bike with the highest spec with the combination of FOX suspension both rear and front. The rear shock is using the new Fox Float X2 shock 160 mm of travel, and Fox 36 FIT Kashima 170 mm travel. But from those three models, the Dune RR Carbon is the lighest than other models.

The fans who want to build their own version, Mondraker also ready for the Dune XR Carbon frame kit option only. The frame only package will be completed with the FSA Headset, OnOff Stem, Rear axle DT Swiss, and Fox Float X2 Kashima.

New Bike: GT Bicycles 2016 Line Up

Still time to be spent to reach 2016, but GT makes a fast move by releasing new line up for 2016. For this 2016 line up, they build some of their most popular bikes, with new parts as the supporting parts to get better performance. The bikes with updates are their hardtail machine GT Zaskar, GT Sanction, and GT Sensor.

GT Zaskar

The Zaskar is the most popular hardtail in GT's lineup, and for the 2016, GT celebrating the 25 years of the bike in the mountain biking world. For this celebration, GT builds two models, the carbon and aluminum frame with 27,5 inch wheels. GT says that the 2016 Zaskar will be able to used in XC riders to hardcore trail riders. The carbon version will be built with Rockshox Pike 120 mm of travel, a dropper post, and will be priced at $4,999.

GT Sanction

GT Sanction is the beast in GT's lineup, as Gee Atherton used it in the enduro racing. GT will build a special "Team Edition" of the 2016 Sanction, which is equipped with Fox Float X2 rear shock 165 mm travel. The "Pro Edition" will be equipped with combination Fox Float X and Fox 36 fork. Shimano XT will be fulfill the drivetrain of the GT Sanction 2016 "Pro Edition". The "Pro Edition" will be priced at $3,499.

GT Sensor

GT also builds the full carbon version of the Sensor. The GT Sensor Expert which is the combination of carbon in front triangle and aluminum in rear triangle will be priced at $4,340. There's no much information about the availability of the bikes, so just keep on eye on the news update.

New Bike: Pivot Mach 429 Trail

Pivot releases their trail bike in this 2015 with the Mach 429 Trail with the carbon material as its frame. Pivot says that this Mach 429 Trail is more versatile, more travel, and more boost. This bike also fits the + trend, due to the availability of the space to allow the rider to put the 27,5+ or 29+. With the 116mm of frame travel, the bike still adopts the DW Link suspension system, with the Fox Kashima suspension for the shock.

Despite still using DW Link, Pivot redesigns the upper link. The front derailleur mount also allows the rider to choose; double chainring or single chainring. To support the 116 mm frame travel, the recommendation of the fork is 120mm - 130mm. The bike is coming with different packages; Pivot Mach 429 Trail with Shimano SLX with the $3,999, and a package with Shimano XTR with $7,699.

Pivot also allows the fans to build their own version by offer a frame only with $2,499. Pivot plans to make a shipping for the bike this week. Overall, this bike has better decal, as previous bike the Mach 6 Carbon is too much logo on the frame, but not with the Mach 429 Trail.

New Bike: BMC Speedfox Trailcrew 650b

The Swiss brand BMC releases new mountain bike, a trail bike with 650b, a bit different approach with the fact that they are more focus on 29er bikes. But it nice to see that this bike is different, the BMC Speedfox Trailcrew is a trail mountain bike with 27,5 wheels, 150mm of frame travel. It is interesting to see that Speedfox Trailcrew is good looking bike despite this new mountain bike is different than another BMC's.

The new Speedfox Trailcrew will be available in several model; the Trailcrew 02 will come with combination of carbon in the front and aluminum in the rear. The Trailcrew 03 model will come in full aluminum frame. The internal cable routing is success to make this bike looks clean. The Speedfox Trailcrew is adopting the APS Suspension Sytem (Advanced Pivot System), which is using two short links to merge the rear and front triangle.

The new BMC Speedfox Trailcrew will be available in five different size, starts from XS to XL. In addition, this new trail mountain bike also comes in two models, the BMC Speedfox 02 Trailcrew and BMC Speedfox 03 Trailcrew. The first one comes with higher spec than the last. The Speedfox 02 will come in carbon/aluminum, with SRAM X01 drivetrain and Shimano XT brakes. The suspension will be supported by Cane Creek DB Inline and Rockshox Pike RC 150 mm of travel.

While the Speedfox 03 will come with combination of Deore-SLX-Deore XT, with the combination of Fox DPS shock and Rockshox Pike RC 150 mm of travel. The price information about the bike is said that the Speedfox Trailcrew 02 will come in $5899, and lesser for the Speedfox Trailcrew 03. (Pinkbike).
